Harrovian Speakers Club

Our former President Robert and Speech Evaluation contestants at our recent contest

Welcome to Harrovian Speakers' Club where you can find and develop your voice.

We are a Toastmaster club that meets on Monday evenings near Stanmore. People come to improve their public speaking. They stay because they also improve their listening, evaluation and leadership skills while also making new friends.
Guests are always very welcome and there is no charge. Expect between 10 to 20 at each meeting. We start at 7:30pm and aim to finish at 9:35pm. Typically, we start with 6 table topics i.e. impromptu speaking, then a 10 minute tea break, followed by up to 4 prepared speeches. Each speech is then given a verbal evaluation. We conclude with a Grammarian report (how good was our use of English?) and a General Evaluator who evaluates the evaluators.

Our next meeting is on Monday evening, 30th January 2012.

Why come to Harrovians? We are a friendly club where if you are a keen member, you will always find a meeting role to develop in. We are aged from early 20s to over 60 with a mix of very advanced and very new members. And we have great humour too. All this and a free cup of tea and a biscuit.
Meeting dates coming up in 2012: Feb 6 & 20 and Mar 5 & 19
We meet at Glebe Hall, Glebe Road, Stanmore, Middx HA7 4EL which is close to Sainsburys and a short walk from Stanmore tube station. It's a ground level meeting hall with free evening parking nearby.

Read more about what actually happens in our meetings at this blog.
